I\\\'m a violinist currently studying for a master\\\'s degree at Trinity Laban (formerly Trinity College of Music). I previously read English at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge (my love of literature informs my music-making in interesting ways!).
I teach the violin to all ages; I also offer teaching in music theory and academic music. I can coach ensembles, and can also give interested violinists an introduction to the baroque violin.
I love teaching, and have wide experience of working in music education, having worked as a Graduate Music Assistant at Wells Cathedral School, a renowned specialist music school, before beginning my studies at Trinity Laban. Here my duties included supervising practice, taking rehearsals, and assisting with high-calibre instrumental teaching, alongside teaching the violin one-to-one. I taught aural skills in preparation for ABRSM exam aural tests, and taught music theory both individually and in a class setting.
I perform widely, playing both baroque and modern violins: with my quartet, the Keats Quartet; in my duo with pianist James Fraser-Andrews; and with baroque ensembles including the Music for Awhile Orchestra, Belsize Baroque (prinicipal second violin), The Amade Players and Dei Gratia.
At Trinity Laban, I study the modern violin with the renowned violin professor Diana Cummings and the baroque violin with Walter Reiter, leader of the orchestra of The Sixteen and principal with The English Concert. I previously studied with Mark Knight and Patricia Noall.
I have a CRB certificate that was required for my work at Wells Cathedral School in the academic year 2010-2011.
